What clubs/activities are you involved in on campus? Mock Convention Publications Sub-Committee, Reformed University Fellowship, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Outing Club

What are some of your other hobbies/interests? I play the guitar and sing (I lead music at RUF). I also love to run and get a lot of use out of the Wood’s Creek trail when it is warmer.  I also really enjoy hiking.

Favorite weekend activity? Hanging out in my friend’s suite in Gaines and making trips to Walmart

Favorite thing about Lexington?  There are so many opportunities to do things for such a small town. The shopping is fun, the surrounding area is great for outdoor activities, and there are so many places to eat.

What’s your favorite W&L memory? My favorite W&L memory was Christmas weekend last term. All of my friends and I went to the same fraternity for dinner, and we had so much fun getting dressed up and enjoying each other’s company. The second night was just as fun, dancing around the basement of Lambda and then having a late-night snowball fight on the colonnade with my friends before heading to the basement of Gaines to watch Elf.

What’s the best encounter you’ve had with a faculty or staff member? My elementary Spanish professor last term, Professor Kuettner, was the best professor I have had so far. He would bring us food to class because we had class every morning. He was always very helpful and wanted to make sure that we understood all of the concepts, even if that meant spending an hour in his office with me the day before a test practicing. He also sent us a greeting card for Thanksgiving in which he invited anybody who could not get home for Thanksgiving to his house to have dinner with him and his wife.

My favorite W&L memory: My first Spring Term was one of the best overall experiences- academically and socially. The ability to focus on one challenging course allows for an intense, yet highly rewarding, academic experience. The weather and opportunities during Spring Term contribute to one of the most rewarding fun experiences I’ve ever had.

What’s the best encounter you’ve had with a faculty or staff member? One of my favorite encounters with a W&L faculty member has been with our study abroad advisor Kip Brooks. Kip has been incredibly helpful in helping me determine the right study abroad program for me from dozens of choices.
