Hometown: Vienna, VA

Major(s)/Minor(s): Business Administration

What clubs/activities are you involved in on campus? I was on the football team for the Generals last season, I am a member of the College Republicans, and I am a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

How are you involved in the Lexington community? I hope to get involved with organizations such as Young Life and possibly do some volunteer work.

What are some of your other hobbies/interests? I love sports, watching movies, being outdoors, talking politics, and relaxing with friends.

Favorite weekend activity?  Just relaxing and catching up on sleep during the day and then hanging out with my friends at night.

Favorite thing about Lexington? I really like the small town old-fashioned feeling of Lexington. Also the beautiful geographic location with the mountains and rivers is something I really like.

What’s your favorite W&L memory? My favorite memory is probably winning the ODAC championship last fall. After countless hours and many months of very hard work it represented the culmination of my teams efforts as an awesome accomplishment that I was extremely fortunate to be a part of.

What’s the best encounter you’ve had with a faculty or staff member? I’ve had many great encounters with Mr. Baner who was previously a part of the security staff but is now on staff for the athletic department and is heavily involved with the football program. Greek organizations occasionally hire him to work security for events that they hold and he is always around the locker room and other facilities doing anything he can to help the students here. I always enjoy having conversations with him and seeing him around.

A 4OT Win for W&L Football!

5 Nov

The field goal that won us the game!

It was such a blast watching the General’s beat Hampden-Sydney in the 4th overtime this past Saturday. The football game was just one part of an amazing Parent’s Weekend that was busy and tiring but totally worth it. I don’t think any studens will be hungry for the next few days after a weekend of dining out with the family (or a friends family) and filling up on hors d’oeuvres at cocktail parties.

Parents Weekend

28 Oct

It’s finally here! Parents’ Weekend 2011. I can’t wait for my parents to get here. Hopefully, like many other parents, they will attend class with me. They’ll get to see what my life at Washington and Lee is like and meet my friends and my professors. This weekend will be filled with Walmart trips, nice dinners, and tons of dancing. And of course there’s a big football game tonight! Go Gennies!!!

Parents Weekend

27 Oct

Parent’s Weekend is almost here!  I’m excited to have my family come down and get a glimpse of life here at W&L.  There’s a bunch of things to do this weekend!  Friday night the reigning ODAC champion Generals take on Catholic in Football.  This is the first time in a long time that a football game will be on a Friday.  There’s tailgating before the game on the field near the Law School.  On Saturday there are concerts and open houses to go to, or you could just make your own schedule!  There’s always a band party in Red Square on Saturday night.  It’s so funny to see parents at a college party.

Homecoming Weekend

2 Oct

Today pretty much wraps up Homecoming/ Alumni Weekend ’11.  The weekend was highlighted by 3 band parties, cocktail parties, and events galore.  It was great to be able to see graduated friends and catch up.  The Football team decided to absolutely demolish Guilford 63-0 (49-0 at half), as well as great victories by the soccer teams.  I think its just awesome how here at W&L we get the chance to live homecoming past high school.  Many people ask dates for the weekends to accompany them to whatever they go to.  It’s a great chance to get to know new people or get to know people better.  Just a great weekend all around!

Parents and Family Weekend!

8 Nov

Family, friends, and lots of events combined to make one awesome weekend here at W&L!  Saturday was an especially fun-filled day with a recital in the morning, football game in the afternoon (ODAC champs!!), Tex-Lex afterward, the acapella concert in Lee Chapel, and finally the band party at Red Square to top it all off.  It was so great to meet everyone’s parents and siblings and see everyone out having a good time together!  It was a tiring weekend, but definitely well worth it.

Excited for Parent’s Weekend!

5 Nov

My parents and younger brother will be arriving shortly! I am so excited to spend a great weekend with them. There are so many things to do on campus this weekend, we should stay pretty busy! My sorority is having a dinner and a band party tonight. We even designed t-shirts for the weekend. Parent’s Weekend is a pretty big deal here.

Tomorrow, the Generals have a big game. Hopefully, everyone will come to the game and support our football team. If they win the game tomorrow, they will win ODACs! There is also a tailgate tomorrow before the game. Another great way to meet our friends’ families.
